Built Up Roofing Built-up roofing is a system that is based on asphalt and that have been in the industry for more than a century now. Our technicians use layers of the different materials in order to make sure that the roof is waterproof and it has really high durability. Built-up roofing contains a flexible membrane that is continuous and it contains a lot of fabric layers mixed with the layers of asphalt to make sure that the materials are bonded in a better way in order to reflect the sun's heat and protect from further damage like foot traffic. Modified Bitumen Modified bitumen is really close to the built-up roofing system in the terms of layers and steps however the systems are different. Modified bitumen is the versatile version of built-up roofing that includes in itself more petroleum-based materials between the layers and this gives it the rubberized appearance. Some modified bitumen systems have self-adhesive sheets that don't require heating to bond the materials. Another particular thing of modified bitumen is the fact that it doesn't necessarily require a top layer to be installed at the roof because it's a durable enough against the foot traffic any can reflect the sun's heat. Single Ply Membranes It doesn't matter if you're using a thermoset or a thermal plastic material because the ply membranes system are usually installed in similar ways. They are common rolls and they must be rolled out and then adhered with glue or tape or by application of heat. Single-ply membranes are really good at protecting, absorbing the sun heat but not so great when it comes to being really resisting the foot traffic. Metal Roofing Metal roofing is one of the most costly options in commercial roof installation because it involves a really high skill of labor and it also can last really long sometimes up to 40 years. Depending on its installation whether it's horizontal or vertical the type of metal used like aluminum, copper, steel, or zinc. Metal roofing depends on other factors such as the way it's installed. This type of system it's not insulated so before installation separate insulation must be applied and this is what takes a lot of time for the project to be finished. |
